I’ve never really eaten a lot of Tamilian food, and was pretty elated to be getting a taste of Tamilian cuisine during the Coimbatore Food Diaries at Latitude, Vivanta by Taj, Panaji. The Tamilian food promo features comfort food, vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali curated by Chef Prakash Kundan from Vivanta by Taj, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore Food Diaries brings in array of Tamil cuisine to Goa, including Tamilian classics like pineapple rasam, Madras fish curry, kari melagu, Niligiri mutton curry and payasam. You can pick from a wide range of soups, main course (in chicken, veg and mutton), rice, breads and desserts – all served as a meal on a voluptuous thali. You can customize them according to your preference.
My Coimbatore thali consisted of lemon rice, potato, rasam, mutton, prawns, Kingfish, sambhar and served with appam and South Indian paratha, with sheera for dessert. Most of the food is very staid and simple, but the non-vegetarian items are as good as they can get – flavoursome and spicy, and has a coconut base. If you’ve never really tried Tamilian food, this is your chance to explore a bit of everything on offer! The promo is on until October 15 for lunch and dinner.
