My first time eating Ramazan food at Jama Masjid, Panaji

I do not really have a lot of Muslim friends and hardly ever get biryani during Eid. When I was in college - for five years, I did have some scrumptious biryani year after year. But that's about it. When I was younger, once an aunt let me tag along for Eid - so I ended up having some delicious biryani and kebabs. That was pretty much a satisfying meal that ended with some sort of awesome dessert. That's all about my experience with Muslim food. But from the very little experience, I knew that it's something I like and wish to try more.

So yesterday evening at sharp 6 pm a few friends and I decided to make our way to the Jama Masjid in Panaji. The lane adjacent to the mosque was converted into a little Ramazan fete - lined with several food stalls serving iftaar food. You get everything from chicken rolls, samosas, chicken kebabs, chicken tndoori and their beef variants too to their special apple juice and other items.

The stall right in the beginning served some apple juice. As we strode ahead, the smokey aroma of tandoor hit our nostrils and we couldn't help but stop. I loved the kebabs, tandoori chicken, chicken kheema roll, daida roti and khichda.

Have you tried some good iftaar food I need to know about? Let me know in the comments below!
