Truly Goan Experience at Ritz Classic | ft. The Goan Fish-Curry-Rice, Seafood and More

On a Monday afternoon, while randomly wandering around Porvorim, I decided to try out the new Ritz Classic outlet at Mall de Goa. Ritz has the ever-so-popular outlet in Panjim, and this one is a bit more upmarket, like a terrace restaurant with a view overlooking city. And it comes with a significant price hike and extra taxes. The decor is minimal with tribal artworks on the wooden pillar, wooden tables and modern couches all in the shades of brown and beige.
For those who aren't aware of the specialty menu at Ritz Classic, they serve amazing seafood cooked in Goan style. They serve all type of fish and other seafood in so many preparations - Rawa Fry, Masala Fry, Plain Fry, Cafreal Fry, Butter Garlic Fry, Xacuti, Curry, Vindalo and Balchao. They serve a range of North Indian and Chinese cuisine too.

I loved the impeccably done Squid Recheiado. The squids were diced and fried coated in homemade Recheiado masala. The masala was of the right flavour - spicy and tangy and complimented the squids which were cooked just right - crisp on the outside yet delightfully soft on the inside.
The much anticipated Goan Thali was served within seconds. I dug into the Rawa Fried Kingfish moments after the plate was served. However, I had a tough time trying to finish the entire platter. There were four curries including the Kokum Curry. There was a portion of veggies, which I did not eat. I loved the Fish Ambot Tik, Clams Sukha and Kismoor. I left thoroughly satisfied with the Goan food I was offered.
