Basic Makeup for Summer || Simple Summer Makeup Look

Hola peeps!

I just realized I did not do a beauty post since long. I had been traveling quite a bit, among other things, and it kept me busy. Besides, I had to complete the travel posts and upload the fashion lookbooks as well. So even though I had a lot of reviews and beauty related posts to put up, I could not.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Summer is here, and it’s hotter than never before. And living in coastal India isn’t that easy, since it is not just hot, but humid as well. So you find yourself sweating like a pig all day long. Can you still wear makeup in such hot weather? I doubt no! A big no to caked face and dramatic eyes. Unless you want your kohl bleeding and face all patchy after a few minutes of getting out of the house.

Sometimes I wish I could just curl somewhere, sip on iced tea and read a good book. Yes, I am obsessed with iced tea these days. A lot of it! That reminds me, I have a post on summer drinks lined up for you all. So talking about makeup, everyone wants to look flawless even during the summers. Even though you can’t have foundation on, you can still conceal the spots and make your skin look flawless.

I decided to share with you’ll this basic makeup look which is ideal for the summers. It is nothing great or artistic, but does a good job in making your face look better even during such a time. I shall list the products I used and add links from where you can buy them as well. I carried this look for like eight hours and it was pretty much intact even though I was sweating a lot.

Cleanse and exfoliate:

You cannot skip this routine no matter what. I know you will sweat in two minutes, or maybe you washed your face like half an hour back, but still, please do cleanse and exfoliate your face well. What I used here is Evrryuth lemon Facewash and Lakme Scrub. Gently scrub your face and rinse with water. Pat dry with a clean towel or tissues.

Toning:

I used the Dabur Gulabari rose water here. Just took a few drops of the rosewater, applied it on a cotton bud and spread it on my face in slow circular motions. Besides toning my face, it gives a kind of a cooling effect. If possible, rub a few ice cubes on your face and neck to get it ready for your makeup.
Product used: Dabur Gulabari Premium Gulab Jal

Moisturizing and sunscreen:

As important as it is during the summer, a well moisturised face is a must during summer too. Use any moisturizer of your choice and gently rub it on your face in upward motion. I used the Avon Care moisturizing lotion here. It has SPF 15, so I skipped the sunscreen. But if your moisturizer does not have SPF, please do not leave the house without a coat of sunscreen. It is a must!

Face:

BB Cream

I had to skip the foundation since it was so humid. So I used the Ponds BB cream indeed. Ever since I have started using BB creams, they have become a holygrail product for me. They do their job so well. High coverage, so light and weightless, and lasts so long. I shall do a post on my favourite BB creams someday soon.

Concelor

If you have really bad acne, scars or spots on your face (like I do) you can use a concelor for higher coverage. Apply it to your under eyes and other problem areas like pimple marks or dark spots on the cheek, etc. Apply it on your nose, cupid bow and cheekbones to give a structure and highlight them a bit.
Product Used: Coloressence Panstick

Powder

After blending the concelor well, apply a hint of powder if you desire. Just very little!
Product used: Lakme radiance Compact

Eyes:

I did not want any drama on my eyes. So to keep the look very simple, I just applied black eye liner carefully on the upper lashline and curled it a bit towards the outer edges. I used the Lakme Liquid Eyeliner here. I did not use any kajal or eyeshadow.
Product used: Lakme Liquid Eyeliner

Lips:

I used the Baby Lips Cherry Kiss lip balm to moisturize my lips and give it a luscious shine.. Later applied the Elle18 lipstick in the shade chirpy red swaps, shade no 61. Dab a little baby powder to get the matte look.

That’s it. The trick to summer makeup is keeping it minimal. You know your face structure and problem areas. So just work towards covering them and enhancing your features without using a lot of products on your face. Also try using water resistant products, usually on the eyes, so that they don’t smudge.
