My Pondicherry Lookbook - Street Style Looks

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
― Coco Chanel

So I finally executed the much awaited Pondicherry trip with my girlsquad during the Valentines weekend. When you do not have a partner you can spend your Valentines Week with, it is best to chill out with your girls. So Varshitha, Naziya and I decided to take a little break from college and head to the South. And here is what I wore during my mini-vacation. I shall share more about the trip in my subsequent posts. So stay tuned.

This is the first time I am sharing my travel lookbook on the blog. I upload a number of photographs on Instagram and Roposo, but never shared them on the blog. But on this trip I made sure I clicked a couple of photographs to share with you guys here.

When I travel I carry just one backpack and stuff everything in it. So I carried some light dresses, a bit of basic makeup and very few accessories, just to make sure I carry light luggage and do not worry about taking care of suitcases and multiple travel bags. A hoodie/jacket, scarf and sunglasses are the first thing that goes in my bag. I cannot imagine traveling without them.

A scarf - so versatile - I can wear it throughout the day and night. For instance in this post, I could wear the scarf the protect myself from the heat and chill in the weather, and also from prying eyes when I wore a sleeveless dress in the night. Also the pleather jacket, an absolute wardrobe staple to be carried to a vacation could be thrown on to complete the look.

This simple sleevesless skater dress was gifted to me a couple of months back. I got it from a person who knows that I am adventurous and would be able to carry off this bold colour. But I wasn't really bold to wear it all this while. So I thought of packing it for my trip. Wore it to dinner at le Chateau and then headed to the beach for midnight coffee at Le Cafe - the 24 hour coffee lounge. Even though it was mid-February, there was a slight chill in the air during the night. So the faux-leather jacket seemed perfect for dinner, and later on I decided to drape a scarf with a neon stripe on it. Wound the black/brown bead necklace on my hand, peacock ear rings and a black studded ring to complete this funky look.

Paired my favourite denim overall with a red plaid shirt. You might have seen many instagram photographs of me wearing both the pieces. I usually wear the shirt with long jeans and the overall as a dress or over a T-shirt. But this time decided to wear the collared shirt and paired it with a red belt, black gold-rimmed sunglasses and Puma satchel bag. You can buy the bag here. The outfit was chic and comfortable for a casual day out exploring White Town and riding to Auroville and back!

This flowy floral skater dress was perfect for the evening shopping and at the beach. Vibrant print and lace detailing on the chest made it look so cute. Threw on my sunnies and striking silver earrings from Archies and I was good to explore Pondicherry market and beaches.

I had to go Red for my Valentines dinner. Picked this cute floral red shirt dress with a belt and wore it with tribal printed earrings for the night out.

You can never go wrong with denim. Wore this grey denim with a boho style kurti picked up while street shopping in Auroville. Paired it with the black/brown bead chain, gold earrings and brown printed sunglasses and I was ready for the day out in French Colony!
