Even though I passed by FabIndia almost daily during my three years at St Xavier’s College, the cafe tucked away in this yellow and white villa never came to my notice. Located in a large Portuguese villa with long verandahs and large windows, Rutas World Cafe is ideal for a business meeting, a date, meeting friends or just enjoying some comfort food peacefully.
Their menu has food from all across the globe. Rutas World Cafe serves sandwiches, soups, salads, etc suitable for a quick byte or a light meal and has a variety of fruit juices, coolers and coffees to choose from. The decor is classy with brightly painted walls, stripped wooden tables and something that resembles a doll house (rather school) in one end. The staff is friendly too. There is outdoor sitting in the veranadah and outside as well, while the inside is air conditioned.
We chose a quiet little table in the verandah and ordered Iced Teas since it was rather hot. As we were chilling over our lemon iced tea and lemongrass iced tea, we decided to grab a quick bite and ordered this delicious chicken pasta. The iced teas weren’t up to the mark, but the interiors and the ambience made up for it.
