Being a Goan at heart, not being in Goa makes me miss home. The foodie that I am, craves for some home made food every now and then. Then I go food hunting exploring places that serve food closest to home food.
On one of such expeditions, I went to Bappamas for lunch. They boast of Konkani food and specialise in seafood preparations. Sea food has always been my favourite. And so this place seemed perfect. I knew I would have a hearty meal when I went through the menu.
The menu includes seafood rava fry, masala fry, ghee roast, several authentic curries and chicken items as well. I tried a fish thali (that included fish curry, rice and other side dishes). Also feasted on some great Squid Masala Fry.
I recently discovered my love for chicken ghee roast and have been feasting on it ever since. So this time, for a change, decided to have Prawn ghee roast. And yes, as expected it was great.

Bappamas is a very new Konkan food joint opened right before Machali, behind Ocean Pearl, Mangalore. It is set up in a titled house and food is served on narrow tables. In case you want to try some authentic Konkani food, this place is worth trying. Not a great place for hangouts since it's crowded during peak hours and there are people waiting in queue to get a table.
